(Radnor, Pa.) — In the second Ruth Grandin Faith, Health and the Human Experience Symposium, over 180 physicians, nurses, social workers and spiritual leaders came together on April 28 at Lankenau Hospital to discuss the connection between faith and health in order to enhance healing of patients, family members, and the community.

This year’s symposium explored our obligation as healthcare providers, as clergy, and as spiritual human beings to go the “extra mile” in making such interventions in the care of patients. Among the panel members was Barry Mann, MD, Chief Academic Officer for Main Line Health and author of the manual, Surgery A Competency-Based Companion, which explores the importance of interpersonal relationships between doctors and patients.
