Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Art Ability Work to be Exhibited at Devon Manor

Monday, May 24, 2010

(Malvern, Pa.) — Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern and Devon Manor in Devon are partnering to celebrate the work of artists who overcome their disabilities and reach beyond their own limitations. Beginning Friday, May 21, over 50 works from the Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Art Ability Satellite Exhibit Program will be on display and on sale at Devon Manor, located at 235 East Lancaster Avenue in Devon.

According to Heather Zoumas-Lubeski, Director of Community Outreach and Special Events at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, this special Art Ability presentation includes two separate exhibitions of original art. “Landscapes from Provence” is a solo exhibit of paintings by Sal Panasci of Devon. Panasci is well-known for his work with Art Ability and his oil paintings and pastels are displayed in homes and galleries world-wide. The second exhibition, “An International Group Exhibition,” includes more than 40 paintings, drawings and photographs by various Art Ability artists. All of the work on display is available for sale.

“Our satellite exhibit at Devon Manor is a perfect example of the importance of Art Ability,” notes Ms. Zoumas-Lubeski. “Art Ability is a special program we developed in our continuing effort to increase public awareness of the competency of individuals with disabilities. One goal of our program is to inspire others to reach beyond their own physical or cognitive limitations and find fulfillment and inspiration through art,” she said.

Art Ability at Devon Manor is open to the public during regular visiting hours through December. For information on purchasing the art or Art Ability, contact Ms. Zoumas-Lubeski at 484-596-5607 or visit www.brynmawrrehab.org/artability.
