14th Annual Art Ability Exhibition and Sale Comes to a Close
(Malvern, Pa.) — Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital invites the community to a special event on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010. “Art and the Patient Experience” is a new initiative that will mark the close of the hospital’s 14th annual Art Ability Exhibition and Sale. The event is free to the public and will take place at the hospital on Sunday, Jan. 10 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The community event is made possible through a grant from the Katherine Alexandra Foundation.
The Art Ability program at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital features the annual exhibition and sale, which is the largest, most comprehensive event of its kind in the United States; the overall goal of the program is to increase public awareness of the competency of individuals with disabilities and to encourage others to reach beyond their own limitations. At the closing reception artists, patients and the public can learn more about Art Ability and meet individual artists during tours, educational workshops and demonstrations.
Hospital president Donna M. Phillips said, “Art Ability represents a triumph over disabilities. This program is an inspiration to our patients, visitors and staff because it shows that perseverance and strength helped these artists reach beyond their physical or cognitive limitations and find fulfillment and inspiration in their art.” For more information on Art Ability and the closing reception, please call 484-596-5607 or visit www.brynmawrrehab.org.
