Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Art Ability Opens Call for Entries For 2009-2010 Exhibit and Sale

Monday, June 01, 2009

(Malvern, Pa.)—Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital is accepting entries for the 14th Annual Art Ability Exhibition and Sale. Artists with physical, cognitive, visual and hearing disabilities are welcome to submit entries for the annual event. Art Ability is an international juried exhibition and sale of art and fine crafts created by artists with disabilities. This year’s exhibit will run from Nov. 7, 2009 through Jan. 17, 2010.

According to Heather Zoumas-Lubeski, Director of Art Ability and Special Events for Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, “only work executed after the onset of a disability or injury is eligible to be entered into the exhibit and all of the work entered must be available for sale. We also ask that artists not resubmit work if it has been exhibited at previous Art Ability exhibits.” Ms. Zoumas-Lubeski noted that all media are eligible, including works on paper, paintings, sculpture, jewelry, photography, pottery, fiber arts and any other fine crafts. Reproduction prints are not acceptable, she added.

The official Call for Entry Form is available on the Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Web site—www.brynmawrrehab.org or at www.callforentry.org. Art Ability festivities will kick off with a Benefactor Reception on October 10 and the Patrons Preview Reception on November 7; the event opens free to the public on November 8 at the hospital in Malvern. For more information on Art Ability, contact Ms. Zoumas-Lubeski at 484-596-5607 or email ArtAbility@mlhs.org.
