The following are basic conditions which must always be met before Home Health services can be covered by Medicare.
  • The patient is an eligible Medicare beneficiary.
  • The home health agency is Medicare certified.
  • The beneficiary qualifies for the Medicare home health benefit.
  • The services are coverable under the Medicare home health benefit.
  • Medicare is the appropriate payer.
  • Services provided are not excluded under the Medicare home health benefit.
