Accredited Computed Tomography Facility - the American College of
1987, the American College of Radiology has accredited more than 35,000
facilities in 10 imaging modalities. The ACR offers accreditation
programs in CT, MRI, breast MRI, nuclear medicine and PET as mandated
under the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA)
as well as for modalities mandated under the Mammography Quality
Standards Act (MQSA).
The CT Accreditation Program involves the acquisition of clinical and
phantom images, dose measurements and the submission of scanning
protocols. Providers that bill under part B of the Medicare Physician
Fee Schedule must be accredited in order to receive technical component
reimbursement from Medicare.

American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognize
Riddle Hospital for achieving 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get
With The Guidelines® Stroke Performance Achievement indicators for
consecutive 12-month intervals and 75 percent or higher compliance on at

National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers
a breast center achieves accreditation by the National Accreditation
Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), it is held to the highest standards
of care for patients with diseases of the breast.
A coalition of professional organizations, the NAPBC, works together to
provide the most efficient and contemporary breast care using scientific
evidence about what works best for patients. NAPBC monitors compliance
to standards at each accredited breast center with board leadership from
many medical disciplines and upholds nationally recognized quality
performance measures for breast cancer treatment.
The NAPBC is administered by the American College of Surgeons (ACS),
which for more than 100 years has led national and international
initiatives to improve quality in hospitals.
Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories
purpose of the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of
Vascular Laboratories accreditation program is to ensure high quality
patient care and to promote health care by providing a mechanism to
encourage and recognize the provision of quality vascular diagnostic
evaluations by a process of accreditation.
Through the accreditation process, facilities assess every aspect of
daily operation and its impact on the quality of health care provided to
patients. While completing the accreditation application, facilities
often identify and correct potential problems, revise protocols and
validate quality improvement programs. Because accreditation is renewed
every three years, a long-term commitment to quality and self-assessment
is developed and maintained. Facilities may use IAC accreditation as the
foundation to create and achieve realistic quality care goals.
