As an internationally recognized expert with hip and knee replacement design experience, I am able to provide unique expertise and experience in a fabulous community setting. This translate into both an excellent result, but a pleasant experience, something every patient needing joint replacements should and can have.
Dr. Jonathan P. Garino is an internationally recognized joint replacement surgeon with expertise in ceramic bearing, avascular necrosis and complex joint reconstruction problems including infections, revisions and dysplasia. He is the principle designer of the Journey Total Knee Replacement System by Smith and Nephew, and he has expertise in partial knee replacements and minimal incision techniques. Dr. Garino is a graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown University School of Medicine. He received his orthopaedic training at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He then completed his formal training with an adult reconstructive fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania where he subsequently joined the staff and remained there until January 2011. He served as an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery and director of the adult reconstruction fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of medicine, where he has educated and trained over 200 orthopaedic surgeons and Fellows. He is a past President of the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Garino is the author of numerous books on hip and knee replacement and he has published over 50 papers in the field. He has given over 200 lectures all over the world on various aspects of hip and knee replacements.
