Dr. Etemad has joined Main Line Gastroenterology Associate and the Main Line Health System after most recently being at Jefferson Medical College and Jefferson University Hospitals as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Interventional Endoscopy. Prior to that, he was Chairman of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Medical Director of Endoscopy at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. His practice has focused on interventional endoscopy and complex endoscopic procedures after completing his advanced endoscopy fellowship under the direction of Robert Hawes, Peter Cotton, and Brenda Hoffman at the Medical University of South Carolina. He also served as director of Endoscopic Ultrasound for two years at the University of Pittsburgh's Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Etemad's focus is on providing tertiary referral quality consultations for patients with complex gastrointestinal diseases. In addition to his clinical practice, he is active in the GI fellowship program in teaching endoscopic techniques as well as coordinating research efforts with those fellows.
Dr. Etemad was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and did his undergraduate work in biology and education at Swarthmore College.
