Building Paoli, One Story At A Time <
Many of our patients have a heartwarming story to tell about the care they received at Paoli Hospital. There are stories about our extraordinary nursing care; a surgeon who performed a lifesaving procedure; an emergency room team
who went above and beyond the call to beat the clock and save a life; an obstetrician who delivered a child and made a couple
feel right at home at Paoli Hospital.
Our past, present and future are grounded in stories from patients and families about courage, hope and gratitude. Read some
of our inspiring patient stories below!

"Having lived in Paoli for the past 36 years - our children are grown and live away - we and our friends need Paoli Hospital
in our community. This was very obvious one weekend four years ago. A friend from out of town was in the area to make a
speech. When he had trouble reading the words I first thought he had the wrong pair of glasses, but then realized it was
much more serious. We rushed him to Paoli Hospital. He had suffered a mini-stroke. The doctors, nurses and health care
technicians were all terrific. I was proud of the Hospital because of the exceptional care he received. That is why Jay
and I support it."
- Mary, with her husband Jay, believe Paoli Hospital is a true diamond right in their community.

"I learned I had cancer on a Tuesday night in the middle of a snowstorm. I'll never forget that night. When I came to the
Cancer Center at Paoli I couldn't believe how caring everyone was. At Paoli, I never felt like a patient. Sometimes my treatments
were five and a half hours long, and often I came after work on Friday. I was tired, but I always knew that someone would
be there for me. EVERYONE GAVE ME HOPE THAT I COULD BEAT MY CANCER. I've been cancer free for more than two years now. I owe
so much to Paoli Hospital. When I win the lottery they will be getting a big chunk of it!"
- Stephanie with her mother, Sandra, say they felt like family at Paoli.

"I am a big fan of Paoli Hospital, especially being a Paoli nurse. Paoli is truly an excellent community hospital with a great
spirit. Over the years we have made many trips to the Paoli ER for our kids. My husband Ed had to go to the ER last Thanksgiving
and they were fantastic. Personally, I have become very involved with Paoli as the president of the Auxiliary and volunteering
in the gift shop. I KNOW PAOLI IS GIVING MY HUSBAND AND ME MUCH MORE THAN I'M GIVING BACK TO THEM."
- Sandy and her husband, Ed; Berwyn residents for 39 years and dedicated Paoli Hospital Supporters

"When my parents moved here in 1964 they were pleased to see that there was a 'nice little hospital' close by. Now with Paoli's
growth, well, we have this incredible hospital in our backyard. My mom always believed in community. She passed away a few
years ago from cancer. The care she received at Paoli was just amazing. THE STAFF AT THE CANCER CENTER TREATED HER LIKE SHE
WAS THE ONLY PATIENT THERE. Actually, that happened everywhere in the hospital. We were treated like a member of their family,
and now we want everyone to receive that kind of care. That's why we support Paoli Hospital."
- Sandi with her father, Jim; Paoli residents for over 40 years

"My wife Donna was a nurse who gave up her career to raise her family. When our children were grown, Donna went back to being
a nurse at Paoli Hospital because she just cared so much about people. Even when she finally retired from nursing, she went
back to volunteer in the Cancer Center. Donna lost her battle with cancer a few years ago. It was my son's idea to have the
memorial gifts from friends and family go to the Cancer Center. Of course we all agreed. PAOLI FEELS LIKE HOME, LIKE A COMMUNITY
HOSPITAL SHOULD. Donna was so proud of Paoli Hospital. We support Paoli Hospital to honor her."
- Mary Beth and Michael Hyatt and their father, Hal; Part of the Paoli family.

"Logan had gastrointestinal problems for weeks. My wife brought her to the Emergency Department at Paoli, where they found
a rare bacterial infection requiring intravenous antibiotics. I could have moved her to a city hospital, but every physician,
every nurse, every tech was fabulous. The team worked together to take care of this kid, and not because she was my daughter.
It's what we do at Paoli. We take care of each other when we're sick. Because we are a part of this community, we see each
other at school, at the grocery store, at the dry cleaners. That's what a strong community hospital is. That's why I support
Paoli Hospital."
- Dr. William Greer, Paoli Internal Medicine physician, and his daughter, Logan
