Hip and Knee Joint Replacement Pre-Op Classes
One of the major factors that ensures a successful recovery from any surgery is knowing what to expect during your hospitalization and rehabilitation. This is true for patients as well as families.

At Paoli Hospital, patient education is a high priority. To answer all of your questions and make sure your hospitalization and recovery go as smoothly as possible, we conduct a pre-op education class for all patients scheduled for total joint replacement surgery and for individuals who are considering surgery.

The class is conducted by the Joint Replacement Program Manager and is offered free of charge. Some of the topics discussed are:

• What preoperative preparation is necessary?
• What does the surgical procedure involve?
• What to expect after surgery?
• What to expect during the rehabilitation period?

During the class, you will have the opportunity to meet members of our rehabilitation team and ask questions related to your individual situation. Your family and friends are encouraged to attend these classes with you so that they can help you during your recovery.

How To Register
Please call the Joint Replacement Program Manager 610-648-1537 and indicated the date of the class you would like to attend prior to your hospital admission. We will give you the location of the class at Paoli Hospital at that time.

The Voice of Experience Program

Our Voice of Experience Program is designed to give you the opportunity to speak privately to former joint replacement patients who have volunteered to share their experience with you. The decision to have surgery may be difficult and the process leading up to surgery can be complex. Our support network understands the questions you may have about surgery and the recovery process and is available to discuss these concerns with you.
