Prepares room and patient for the visit anticipating the
needs of the physician. Completes intake to include but
not limited to: allergies, medications (verify, update
and reconcile), problem list, reason for visit, vital
signs and other clinical measures as required.
Performs medical procedures under the supervision of a
physician including but not limited to EKGs, phlebotomy,
basic lab tests, dressing changes, BP, etc. Assists
physicians in preparing for and performing minor
surgeries, dependent upon practice specialty.
Prepares and administers subcutaneous and intramuscular
injections and immunizations with physician’s
authorization dependent upon practice specialty.
Maintains clean, organized, stocked clinical areas and

waste and following procedures for disinfection.
Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments.
Documents test results and records patient information
in patient chart contacting patients with test results
when instructed by a physician.
Calls patient prescriptions into pharmacy as directed by
physician or prepares prescriptions for renewal in EMR
system to be signed off by physician.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients,
visitors, and other medical personnel in person and on

handle many incoming calls or patients at once.
Receives and interprets physicians’ orders and completes
necessary phone calls or forms and refers patients to
appropriate department for services.
Perform job functions of a Patient Services
Representative when required.
Proficient in medical procedures and medical terminology required. One
year experience preferred. Knowledge of personal computer and relevant
software applications preferred. Knowledge of third party payors
Licensures & Certifications:
Current CPR certification. Medical Assistant certification
Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program.
