BMH internist and
guest speaker, Dr. Bonnie Lee Ashby.
Veteran Bryn Mawr Hospital internist, Dr. Bonnie Ashby, delivered a
touching testimonial to her mother, crediting her with the solution to a
problem Dr. Ashby faced as a young doctor just starting her medical
career: how to support worthy causes, such as her alma maters and Bryn
Mawr Hospital, when at the time her financial circumstances were so
limited. Advised her mother, “Put them in your will.” Dr.
Ashby took her mother’s advice and, as she explained, “Today I have
the satisfaction of knowing that as my estate has grown over the years,
so has the value of my bequests. It’s a win-win,” she concluded.
