Christmas arrived early at Bryn Mawr Hospital in 2012. On December 7,
the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair presented a check for $403,000,
the largest donation to Bryn Mawr Hospital to date. Devon’s gift will
support a Hologic stereotactic unit for breast biopsies in the
Comprehensive Breast Center ($168,000), plus eight new and six upgraded
cardio-respiratory monitors in the NICU ($234,375). The remaining $625
is unrestricted. Hospital president, Andi Gilbert, Thomas Frazier, MD,
medical director, Comprehensive Breast Center, and Glenn Kaplan, MD, MLH
chief of Neonatology, all spoke at the reception. Drs. Frazier and
Kaplan explained how Devon’s generosity will benefit their patients in
the Comprehensive Breast Center and the NICU. Dr. Kaplan brought one of
the new cardio-respiratory monitors to the reception to personally
demonstrate its advanced features.
