Physicians and Staff
The
Center brings together a team of specialists in orthopaedic spine
surgery, pain management, and diagnostic and interventional radiology to
ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment tailored to the
specific needs of each patient.
Our specialists seek the least invasive treatment that will be effective
in relieving pain and restoring mobility and function. When surgery is
recommended, patients can rest assured that our specialists have taken a
rigorous approach to determining that surgery is the appropriate
treatment option and, further, which exact surgical approach is best.
Our Care Approach
At the Spine Center, we take a personalized, multidisciplinary approach
from initial consultation through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Our care philosophy can be summed up in 10 words: keep it simple, make
it personal, and do it well.
Keep it simple. We know how confusing and overwhelming
information about back and spine problems can be—the unfamiliar words
and complex-sounding treatments can make patients uneasy on top of being
in pain. We find it helps to keep things simple when explaining what’s
going wrong, how to fix it, and what a person can expect in the way of
real-life improvements with treatment. Breaking things down into simple
terms that are meaningful helps patients feel more at ease and in
control during treatment and recovery.
Make it personal. Every person with a spine problem is
different. Age, weight, sex, fitness level, genetic makeup, severity of
pain or other symptoms, presence of other health conditions, preference
or tolerance for one treatment versus another—all of these factors and
others need to be considered during evaluation and treatment planning.
At the Spine Center, each patient receives personalized care directed by
a surgical spine specialist. From the first visit through treatment
follow-up, the specialist is directly involved, ensuring that each
patient receives the correct diagnosis and an individualized treatment
plan. The goals of treatment are always to eliminate pain, restore
mobility and function, and minimize treatment-related risks. If surgery
is determined to be the best option for achieving these goals, the
specialist also performs all steps in the surgical procedure. That’s
what we mean by personal.
Do it well. Quality matters to us. We know that
effective treatment of spine conditions requires a thorough
understanding of the causes and most appropriate treatments, experience
in customizing treatment to each person’s need, and technical skill in a
procedure or operating room. We are committed to excellence in all
aspects of spine care. This is our goal.
