Comprehensive Breast Center Reception
On October 18, 2011, Lankenau’s Comprehensive Breast Center hosted
a reception in celebration of the legacy of retired surgeon, Dr. Robert
Smink.
Dr. Smink established – over the course of 43 remarkable years at
Lankenau – a legacy of dedicated service through his exceptional
surgical skills. Dr. Smink’s career is highlighted by countless
accomplishments. He served as chief of surgery at Lankenau and also as
director of Lankenau’s Surgical Residency Program from 1987 through
2004, the longest anyone has served in that role. But Dr. Smink is best
remembered for the incredible way he connected with his patients – some
of whom were able to attend this event.
This celebration was an opportunity for guests to learn about Lankenau’s
dynamic new Comprehensive Breast Center. Located on the 6th floor of
Lankenau’s Medical Science Building, the Comprehensive Breast Center
recently celebrated its one-year anniversary of providing patients the
most advanced digital mammography technology and highly-skilled,
renowned clinical experts in a soothing environment.
