Lankenau's Patient Experience Fund A few years ago,
a gentleman spent a prolonged time as an inpatient at Lankenau. He
and his wife were pleased with the care he had received, but as engaged
community members, recognized that the patient experience is something
that can always be improved upon. After the husband’s passing in
2008, his widow began her partnership with Lankenau in an effort to
improve patient comfort.
Through her personal, direct charitable donations – and, indirectly,
through the process improvement initiatives she has inspired – Lankenau
patients now have more comfortable mattresses for beds and regularly

Lankenau’s patients. Another generous contribution enabled the purchase
of designer bathrobes for our inpatients to use during their stay that
provided warmth and privacy previously not afforded by traditional
hospital gowns alone. Most recently, a contribution from this anonymous
benefactor was used to purchase a blanket warmer for our "tuck in at
night" program, and new recliners where they were most needed.
The Patient Experience Fund was established with the gifts from this
anonymous donor. Contributions to the fund help to make Lankenau a more
