Lankenau’s physicians and clinical teams are known throughout the region

Mother-Baby Center provides the most advanced technology for patient
safety, private labor and delivery rooms, spacious postpartum rooms and
amenities for the comfort of new moms and families.
At Lankenau, we deliver more than 2,700 babies each year and we are
dedicated to serving the needs of new moms. The registered nurses who
care for new moms and babies during their stay are the primary source of
support, education and information about breastfeeding, postpartum and
All nurses in our postpartum unit are specially trained to provide
breastfeeding education and support to new moms, and a number of these
nurses are also certified breastfeeding consultants. Nurses in the
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) receive advanced lactation training
through a partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Lankenau provides additional breastfeeding education by bringing in
International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) to support
If you require support when you return home from Lankenau, the “Mommy
and Me” group may be of interest. This weekly support group for new
mothers is led by a breastfeeding counselor and addresses nutrition,
breastfeeding, sleep and general parenting concerns.

lactation department by calling 484.565.8075. This service is located at
Paoli Hospital and is available to mothers who delivered at any Main
