Residency Programs
The residency programs at
Lankenau provide a balance of rigorous academic teaching and extensive
clinical practice. Lankenau, a 331 bed hospital located 20 minutes
outside Philadelphia, combines the experiences of a tertiary care
medical center and a community hospital. Our affiliation with the
Lankenau Institute of Medical Research provides an opportunity for both
basic science and clinical research on our own clinical campus. The
residency programs include General
Surgery, Internal
Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology.
Fellowship Programs
The Cardiovascular Diseases
Fellowship Program at Lankenau began more than 25 years ago.
Lankenau is one of only 12 academic medical centers offering fellowships
in three areas of cardiovascular specialties: cardiovascular disease,
clinical cardiac electrophysiology, and interventional cardiology. The
program is able to meet the individual interests of fellows in
developing expertise in one or more specific areas of cardiology.
Fellowship programs include Cardiovascular
Diseases, Gastroenterology,
Hematology/Oncology and Nephrology.
Clerkships and Electives
Students from accredited medical schools have an opportunity to
gain real-world medical knowledge through direct patient care
experiences. These rotations are
designed to provide junior and senior medical students with experiences
in a number of medical subspecialties.
Continuing Medical Education
Through its Continuing Medical Education
programs, Lankenau optimizes patient care and clinical
competency by offering quality learning experiences for
physicians, nurses and other clinicians. These programs are
designed to advance medical care at Lankenau and globally.
