Comprehensive Breast Center

Lankenau's Comprehensive Breast Center, which opened in June 2010, is a 7,000-square-foot facility that occupies the entire 6th floor of the Medical Science Building (MSB). The Center is dedicated to all aspects of breast health, from prevention and early detection of breast cancer to treatment and counseling. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, staffed by a supportive and welcoming team and beautifully designed for comfort and privacy.

The Comprehensive Breast Center is a culmination of Lankenau's commitment to clinical expertise, groundbreaking research and medical education to ensure a superior patient experience. It is the first step in the plan to transform the MSB into a world-class cancer center.

Comprehensive Clinical and Support Services

• An experienced, multidisciplinary team of experts in breast health, including breast radiologists and technicians, surgeons, oncologists and other clinicians, who collaborate to provide the most thorough and highest quality care

• Screening and diagnostic services utilizing the most advanced technology, including digital mammography with computer-aided detection; high-resolution ultrasound; breast MRI; and minimally-invasive biopsy with rapid results

• Breast Care Coordinators to provide individual support and guidance throughout a woman's entire treatment process for cancer and other breast diseases

• Cancer Risk Assessment and Genetics Program to evaluate women at greater risk for breast cancer and help them make informed decisions

• Access to clinical trials for promising new drugs and therapies, through the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research and the Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP), as a designee of the National Cancer Institute

• A beautiful setting designed to put women as ease, with features such as private changing areas and separate waiting rooms, abundant natural light and views of the city skyline and St. Charles Seminary

• On-site patient information area with computer kiosks and a breast health library
