About Our Services
Nearly one out of every 133 Americans suffer from celiac disease, a
digestive disease that damages the small intestine because of a
sensitivity to gluten, which is found in wheat, rye, barley, and oats.
This hereditary disorder interferes with the absorption of nutrients
from food.
The Celiac Center at Paoli Hospital provides a local resource to help
people manage and embrace the gluten-free lifestyle.
Whether you believe you or a loved one may have celiac disease, are
newly diagnosed or have lived gluten-free for years, our team is
committed to helping you through it all. From screening and nutritional
counseling to consultations with our specialists, Paoli Hospital is here
for you.
Gluten-Free for Patients at Paoli Hospital
The food service department at Paoli Hospital receives educational
training ensuring they are able to properly serve gluten-free foods
to both patients and guests. Patients admitted to Paoli
Hospital who need to follow a gluten-free diet will be
hand-delivered a gluten free menu that has been especially designed by
the executive chef and registered dietitian. To provide the best
possible gluten-free products available, the kitchen has teamed up with
Kimberton Whole Foods™.
