The Art Ability Exhibition and Sale opens annually with a ticketed
event, the Preview Reception, held at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in
Malvern, PA. The reception offers guests the first opportunity to
view and buy works by our exhibiting artists while enjoying
refreshments, passed hors d’oeuvres, entrée stations and delicious
desserts. Many of the artists are in attendance that evening,
with attendance typically ranging from 350-450 people. Anyone interested
in receiving an invitation for this event should contact the Art Ability

Art Ability 2011 Closing Reception
A closing reception was held on Sunday, January 9, with more than 100
guests in attendance. The second annual event included two guided tours
by Art Ability Curator Susanna Saunders, Ph.D., and three educational
workshops. The 16th annual Art Ability Exhibition and Sale will close on
Sunday, January 16. For more information on additional opportunities

Patrons Preview, 2009
The Art Ability Exhibition and Sale opens annually with a
ticketed event, the Patrons Preview Reception, held at Bryn Mawr
Rehab Hospital in Malvern, PA. The evening includes music, food,
a silent auction, and is the first time the artwork is available
for sale to the public. Many of the artists are
in attendance that evening, with attendance typically
ranging from 350-450 people. Anyone interested in receiving an

Benefactor Reception, 2009
Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital gratefully acknowledges Patty and Gary
Holloway for hosting the 2009 Art Ability Benefactors Reception
on October 11, 2009. The evening, which included a Silent
Auction and on-going demonstrations from Art Ability Artists
Mimi Barclay Johnson, Suzanne Stewart, and 2009 Featured Artist
Linda Fry Goschke, provides a sneak preview of the current
year’s show.
Closing Reception, January, 2010
On January 10, 2010, thanks to the generosity of the Katherine
Alexandra Foundation, Art Ability was pleased to offer its first
ever Closing Reception at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital open to
artists, patients, former patients, and the community. This
no-cost reception focused on Art and the Patient Experience, and
participants were invited to come and view the 2009 Art Ability
artwork, enjoy guided tours, attend educational workshops and
enjoy conversation about their experience of utilizing art in
their recoveries.
Vanguard Showcase, October 2009
The Vanguard Group in Malvern hosted a satellite exhibition of
work on October 28, 2009, which included the talents of a
demonstrating artist at the Gallery of their Morgan Building.
This opportunity was in conjunction with their corporate
diversity efforts.
Waverly Satellite Exhibit Reception, July 2009
Beginning with an Opening Reception on May 31, 2009, Art Ability
was please to lend 45 pieces from its permanent collection to
Waverly Heights in Gladwyne, PA to open in their main meeting
room for a satellite exhibition. This show, open daily beginning
June 1st through July 23rd, provided another showcase
and marketplace for these talented Art Ability artists while
educating the community about the remarkable capabilities of
people with a wide variety of disabilities.
William Penn Satellite Exhibit Reception, April 2009
From August 2008-August 2010, an exhibit featuring 75 pieces of
Art Ability artwork for sale was displayed at the William Penn
Foundation offices at Two Logan Square, Philadelphia, PA. This
is the first time that Art Ability has offered artwork for sale
at a satellite exhibit, and it has been a great opportunity for
Art Ability and our artists to gain more exposure and spread our
mission of celebrating artists with disabilities.
