Beth Ann Johnson (Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania) has arthritis and anoxic
encephalopathy, which causes mobility,
balance and cognitive loss. She has a
degree in opera scenic design from
Indiana University School of Music and a
master’s in management from Simmons
College. She measures her growth
through art as she continues to deal
with the repercussions of her
disability. An instructor in Chinese
painting at the Fleisher Art Memorial,
her work ink painting in the
Chinese style and Chinese calligraphy
has been exhibited extensively.
