Ashby Saunders (Solebury, Pennsylvania)
began his sculpture career when he was
45. He studied for 10 years with
different sculptors, to whom he
attributes his success. His first major
exhibition was at the 50th anniversary
of the Baseball Hall of Fame in
Cooperstown, N.Y. In 1998, his life-size
bronze casting of “The Sack Race” was
placed in Doylestown’s Center Park.
