Thomas Wilczewski (Long Branch, New
Jersey) is a self-taught artist and for
30 years he has had his own engraving
business. Wilczewski contracted polio at
age four and works from his wheelchair.
Wilczewski’s watercolor paintings are
inspired by nearby beaches and gardens.
His work has received numerous awards
and appears on brochures, greeting cards
and calendars. He is active in several
arts organizations and has established
an annual award given to a disabled
student at a Jersey City school. He is a
former chairman of the Jersey City
Mayor’s Task Force for the Handicapped.
His love and fascination with the art of
watercolor inspired him to capture its
beauty and serenity in a book of his own
