Max Tzinman (New York, New York) was
born in Romania and lived in Israel and
Canada before moving to New York. He has
been hearing impaired since birth.
Tzinman sees himself as an image
storyteller, not capturing a single
moment, but rendering a continuously
changing world on paper. His aim is to
push the viewer to think and feel, to
question what came before and what will
come after the depicted moment. He says
his hearing impairment simultaneously
isolates him from the world and makes
him more sensitive to his surroundings.
Tzinman’s images have been displayed in
PhotoLife and at the LACDA in Los
Angeles, the Center for Fine Art and
Photography in Colorado and the Brooklyn
