Jacob Mann (Brooklyn, New York) was born
in the Ukraine where he received a
master’s degree in computer science and
then relocated to the United States.
After retiring from his job in New York
as a computer programmer, Mann studied
art history and photography. Although he
suffers from Parkinson’s disease, he
finds his subjects on the streets of New
York and said his goal is to “show
familiar objects in a new light,”
“creating black and white images that
emphasize harmony and balance in a
geometry of lines and shapes.”
