Patients and visitors in the hospital can now get directly to the
Internet through wireless access. Access is available on all floors,
including the waiting areas, meeting rooms and patient rooms. The
service is provided without charge. Patients and visitors can use a
properly configured laptop that is wireless compatible and able to
connect to the Web. The hospital suggests using a computer running one
of the newer versions of Windows operating systems.

Virtual private network (VPN) connections can be established using most
client software (PPTP); however, the hospital cannot guarantee all of
them to work.
The hospital highly recommends that you employ standard computing safety
measures. The hospital does not filter, scan, monitor or block any
traffic through this Internet connection. Standard safety measures
include, but are not limited to, employing personal antivirus software
with updated signature files, using a personal firewall program, and
staying current on all applicable updated security patches or fixes for
your operating system and browser software.
