Anthony Zaremba (Whiting, New Jersey) was
diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1984.
A graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New
York City, he had to retrain himself
to paint with his left hand. He was
selected as a Champion of Courage by the Berlex
Drug Company “for the courage demonstrated
while facing multiple sclerosis.” His prize
money was used to establish an enabling
garden for wheelchair-bound gardeners at the
Floyd Bennett Garden Association in
Brooklyn. He participated in
individual and group exhibitions, including the
Red Horse Gallery in NJ, and the William Penn
Foundation in Philadelphia, PA.
"Art has enabled me to see with my heart; my most important instrument is not, my brush or watercolors but what I feels inside."
- Anthony Zaremba
