2011 Featured Artist: "When I create, I am an
artist, I do not think about my disability."
Max considers himself a “digital artist”
who experimented with different
mediums including drawing and painting
throughout his life. He was born hearing
impaired and believes his hearing
impairment gives him a greater respect
for observation. Born in Romania, Max
lived in many countries, including
Israel, Canada, and the United States.
Starting at a young age his parents
encouraged his love for art and
appreciated its ability to not only help
him cope with the world but also as a
way to communicate.
Max tells the story of life through his
art. He said his story constantly
changes in both ideas and feelings
because he is in continuous motion.
His objective in art is to evoke a state
of mind toe veryone who views his work.
Max uses photographs, videos, and
drawings as his basis. He then shapes
them into graphic mirrors using computer
tools. Max believes scenes
have extraordinary potential to elicit
emotion. His artwork is displayed in
PhotoLife, Los Angeles Center for
Digital Art in California, Center for
Fine Art and Photography in Colorado and
the Brooklyn Art Gallery.
Max’s goal continues to be reaching a
larger audience with art. It is not his
preference to look back on his ever
changing artwork because he believes
time is too limited and that there is
more to accomplish in the now.
