The Lankenau Institute for Medical Research
Medical, surgical and ob-gyn resident and fellow training at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR) can give new physicians the opportunity to mentor with LIMR faculty in their laboratories. Research rotation time, duration and requirements vary depending on the residency or fellowship program, as well as the LIMR faculty member, and are crucial in a productive research rotation. If time frames and schedules are compatible, the resident or fellow will work with his/her mentor to conduct basic, translational, or clinical research studies that may result in publications in peer-reviewed journals. Our hope is to impart training in research skills and thinking to the fellow or resident, while also facilitating translation of the research group’s studies toward improvement of patient care and actual disease treatment/prevention.
