Katherine G. Kittleman
Associate Director of Development
Kate joined the Bryn Mawr Hospital
Development team as Associate Director
of Development in 2004 after five years
as a development officer at The
Episcopal Academy. Kate rarely refers to
herself as a fundraiser, although
she plays a leading role in
identifying, cultivating, soliciting and
stewarding a strong and renewable base
of charitable support for the
hospital. "My colleagues and I are
really "relationship managers", Kate
explains. "Our job is to articulate the
case for support, receive, record and
acknowledge charitable gifts,
and provide a superior donor
experience through excellent stewardhip.
The real fundraisers are the nurses,
doctors, volunteers and staff who
provide the great care that our
community counts on and
appreciates." The fundraising
process Kate describes has many parts,
all under the leadership and guidance of
the Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation Board.
Kate is staff liaison to the
Gerhard Society Committee of the Board.
She also manages development
communications, which include print and
online publications such as Partners,
the Annual Report and The Power of
Community e-newsletter. Kate holds
a bachelors degree in languages and
linguistics from Georgetown University
and an MA in French from Bryn Mawr
College. A lifelong resident of the Main
Line, Kate is a member of the
Association of Fundraising Professionals
and the Partnership for Philanthropic
Planning of Greater Philadelphia.
