Our Mission and Goals
The mission of Main Line Hospitals – Laboratory Services is to be
the preeminent clinical laboratory provider in the Delaware Valley,
known for quality service and customer satisfaction.
The goal is to provide accurate, precise and timely results that
are requested and used appropriately for a good patient outcome, at low
cost and with high degrees of quality and value. Our Quality
Assurance/Performance Improvement Plan helps us achieve these goals by
continuously identifying high volume or potentially problem-prone areas,
measuring and assessing current performance, improving processes, and
evaluating and documenting the effectiveness of the improvements.
The Main Line Hospitals – Laboratory Services Performance Improvement
Plan is administered by a Performance Improvement Committee that is
chaired by the laboratory medical director and consists of
administrative directors and the supervisors of various laboratory
departments of Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Blood
Bank, Support Services, Client Services and a representative from
Laboratory Information Services. The team focuses on test result
quality, phlebotomy, courier service, specimen accession and processing
and client services. This continuous improvement program has
demonstrated increased precision and a conscientious effort to support
our clients with excellence in laboratory services.
