How can you make gifts of property, securities or real estate now if you
don't know whether you will need those assets later?
Many have found the perfect solution to be a gift through their wills.
With a bequest, you can provide for the future of Bryn Mawr Hospital
without using any of your assets today. Many people in our community
have been discouraged by low earnings on their cash investments. But
some have discovered that they can help themselves and Bryn Mawr Rehab
Hospital through a charitable gift annuity. With a gift annuity, you
make a gift of cash or marketable property to the Bryn Mawr Rehab
Hospital Foundation. We reinvest the assets and guarantee you a fixed
income for life (and, if desired, for another beneficiary's lifetime).
The annuity rate determines the annual amount paid to you and is related
to your age. After the lifetimes of all beneficiaries, the funds are
available for Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital.
If you wish to make a deferred gift to Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, you can
simply name Bryn Mawr Hospital as a beneficiary in your will or under a
life insurance or pension plan. An alternative option is to establish an
irrevocable charitable remainder trust (CRT).
With a CRT, you can meet several personal objectives, including:
-
Reduced death taxes
-
Improved income
-
Current income tax savings through a charitable deduction
-
Avoidance of capital gains tax (if your trust is funded with
appreciated assets which would otherwise be sold).
-
Carrying out your intent to support Bryn Mawr.
Charitable remainder trusts also offer flexibility. With a trust that
you set up during your lifetime, you may change the designated
charitable beneficiaries at any time.
