The Cruisin' Not Boozin' Program has won recognition for its prevention efforts in the community with the following awards:
- Hospital & HealthSystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) Achievement Award for excellence and innovation in community outreach and education.
- American Trauma Society of Pennsylvania award to the James Brown family for outstanding contributions to trauma prevention and education as speakers for the Cruisin' Not Boozin' Program.
- Pennsylvania Governor's Highway Safety Award for outstanding contributions above and beyond normal professional or social duties in the area of alcohol highway safety.
- National Commission Against Drunk Driving commendation award in the area of education and prevention.
- Pennsylvania Health Educator's Institute Community Health Education Award.
- Insurance Partnership of Pennsylvania's Gold TIP Award in recognition of efforts to educate and prevent teenagers from drinking and driving.
- National, regional and local news media coverage in USA Today, PT Advance, Nursing Spectrum, Drive Magazine, NBC's Today Show, CNN "Headline News" and dozens of Philadelphia newspaper, radio and television stories.
