Specialized Programs
Our Second Chance Program is designed to met the rehabilitation needs of stroke patients who may not have been given the opportunity for comprehensive rehab after their stroke. This includes patients who have already been discharged to home or a nursing home. The program helps individuals reduce their dependency on caregivers and increase their independence in areas such as mobility, self-care and feeding.
Young Stroke Program
While the majority of people affected by stroke are over age 65, as many as 25,000 people who sustain a stroke are under the age of 45. Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital's Young Stroke Program was designed to help these individuals resume as active and independent a lifestyle as possible. The program also emphasizes cognitive remediation, with a focus on relearning the skills necessary to return to work and daily responsibilities and resume family roles.
