Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital’s Medical Rehabilitation Programs are designed to meet the rehabilitation needs of individuals who have a broad range of acute or chronic illnesses that cause temporary or permanent disability. Our programs combine medical care with rehabilitation services to help re-establish the functional, physical, cognitive and behavioral skills required to live as independently as possible.
Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital offers medical care and rehabilitation for a variety of conditions, including:
Rehabilitative treatment emphasizes a team approach. The inpatient treatment team typically includes a rehabilitation physician (a physiatrist), an internal medicine physician, rehabilitation nurse, pharmacist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, psychologist and case manager. The team might also include a registered dietitian and a recreational therapist.
As a comprehensive rehabilitation facility, Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital offers a range of treatment options, including inpatient care, single outpatient therapy or a combination of outpatient therapies. We also offer a full complement of specialized services. Out intention is to offer clients the opportunity to choose the most appropriate program of care based on the type and severity of their condition. We also address any special lifestyle or vocational needs.
At Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, the emphasis of our treatment is on integrating and stabilizing the patient’s medical and postoperative needs with their rehabilitation needs. We support this by creating a treatment plan that best reflects the patient’s medical status, physical endurance, lifestyle, and vocational and social needs.
To meet the needs of each individual patient, the rehabilitation program may address any of the following:
Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital offers many additional services that can enhance a program of care or can be requested individually. These include:
A referral to Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital can be made by a physician, an insurance case manager, a social worker from an acute-care hospital, or a family member. Our clinical liaisons are available on-site at many acute-care hospitals in the Delaware Valley to review and evaluate medical records and to speak to families whose loved ones could benefit from our specialized services. Family members are strongly encouraged to visit our campus and to tour our therapy facilities when making a decision about rehabilitation care.
