Medical Oncology
A medical oncology office suite, owned and operated by board certified medical oncologists, offers the latest in chemotherapy treatment for cancer patients. Included within this site is an infusion unit, which is mutually shared with Riddle Hospital, for the administration of chemotherapy and supportive medications during outpatient cancer therapy. Videoconferencing
This system enables physician interaction among cancer specialists at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Riddle Hospital. These telemedical consultations ensure that the most advanced knowledge about cancer treatment, clinical trials and outcome data can be instantaneously shared.
Clinical Trials Office
Riddle Hospital's membership in the Jefferson Cancer Network enables us to participate in nationally approved clinical trials for cancer treatment and cancer prevention. These research studies are used to evaluate new treatment designs and drug therapies.
Social Services/Home Care
Immediate psychosocial support is available as needed. Home Care arrangements can be made for qualified individuals to receive in-home nursing services.
Prostheses, Head Coverings and Breast Prostheses
Head Covering and Breast Prostheses consultations are available through the Cancer Center and can be provided in your own home. For further information, please call 610-627-4480.
Family Resource Center / Patient Education
The Family Resource Center is conveniently located within the Riddle Cancer Center waiting area. A variety of printed resource materials from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the American Cancer Society are available, as well as a user-friendly touch-screen computer whose database is updated monthly by the NCI.
Nutritional Counseling
Patients and family members can participate together to optimize cancer therapy by using foods that provide needed nutrients. Each week registered dietitians provide free group instruction. Additionally, individual nutritional counseling can be obtained in Riddle's Nutrition and Weight Center.
Medically Based Fitness Program
Riddle’s Medically Based Fitness Program helps members achieve their health and fitness goals in a structured and safe environment. This program provides an individualized exercise plan based on scientific and clinical principles, utilizing guidelines established by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). The program is supervised and monitored by an exercise physiologist -- a specially trained and certified professional.
Lymphedema Physical Therapy
Specially trained physical therapists use manual lymphatic drainage techniques to reduce lymphatic swelling.
The Buddy Program
Offers free, personalized information and emotional support, matching newly diagnosed cancer patients with patients who have successfully completed cancer treatment. For further information, please call 610-627-4480.
Look Good, Feel Better
"Look Good Feel Better" workshops, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, provide free, practical information for women undergoing cancer treatment, to deal with appearance-related side effects such as hair, skin and nail changes.
