General Guidelines
Please ask your visitors to adhere to our visiting hours and to observe
the following rules. Visitors should:

Refrain from loud conversation

Leave the room quietly when asked

Restrict the number of visitors in the patient's room to no more
than two at a time, unless the unit's activity or patient's
condition permits additional visitors

Keep visits to about 15 minutes

Refrain from sitting on empty patient beds

Closely supervise children under 14 at all times

Refrain from visiting if they have a cold, flu-like symptoms or
any other communicable disease, no matter how mild those
symptoms may seem
Medical/Surgical Units
Visiting hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Parents of children and
adolescent patients may visit 24 hours a day; others may visit with
permission of the parents between 11:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. daily.
Sun Room (Family Waiting Area)
Located on the fourth floor between the Pew and Rosengarten buildings,
adjacent to the elevator lobby, the Sun Room is an area where families
may wait for information concerning surgical patients and those in the
intensive care units (ICUs) and where physicians can communicate
directly with the family. Families of surgical patients will be notified
of a patient's arrival in the recovery room, also called the
post-anesthesia care room (PACU).
Family members may leave a home phone or cell phone number or hospital
extension at the Sun Room information desk, which is staffed by
volunteers from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Volunteers also provide coffee and tea.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Only two adult visitors are allowed at a time. Visiting hours are 11:30
a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CTICU)
Visiting hours are 10:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
Mother/Baby Unit
The father or significant other may visit 24 hours a day. Grandparents,
siblings and other visitors can visit between the hours of 11:30 a.m.
and 8:30 p.m.
Siblings of newborns must have already had chicken pox. Any other child
must have prior approval of nurse in addition to the chicken pox rule.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Parents and grandparents have may visit 24 hours a day, except at shift
change and on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Visiting
hours for siblings are from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day while the
mother is a patient in the hospital; once the mother is discharged,
siblings may visit only on Saturdays and Sundays. Other visitors must be
accompanied by a parent, and must be 16 years of age or older.
