Primary care physicians of internal medicine, or “internists,” are
doctors who treat adult patients, from adolescents to the elderly. The
internists at Lankenau Medical Center are dedicated to the prevention,
diagnosis and treatment of conditions primarily affecting adults and are
concerned with the care of the whole patient, from mental health to
effective treatment of common problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous
system and reproductive organs. Our internists are specially trained to
diagnose and treat severe chronic illnesses and situations where several
illnesses occur at the same time.
Geriatric medicine is the internal medicine specialty
that serves the elderly through direct medical care.
The family practice physicians at Lankenau Medical
Center offer care for people of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
Ongoing care includes preventive healthcare plus care for acute and
chronic illnesses. Services provided by family practice physicians
include newborn and well-baby services, general pediatrics, prenatal
services, office gynecology, minor office surgery, geriatrics and other
general medical care services.
