Volunteering
is an extremely rewarding experience. Our volunteers are crucial in
supporting Paoli Hospital’s mission to uphold the standard of excellence
in care, educational information, technology and community outreach.
Through the generous gift of time, talents and personal interests, our
volunteers supplement the work of staff members by offering many special
services so important to patients, their families, and hospital
staff. We strive to provide a “superior experience” to all we
encounter.
While there are specific benefits to being a volunteer, the greatest
reward is being part of a team that helps deliver the best patient care
possible to those in need.

Adult Volunteer Opportunities
Adult Applicants must be 19 years of age. Please follow the
following steps to become a volunteer at Paoli Hospital:
-
Commit to a weekly shift of four (4) hours with a minimum of a
six (6) month stay. College students may apply for a
summer program using the same adult application.
-
Complete and submit the appropriate application
packet to the Volunteer Office either by mail or fax to the
address or number noted below. An appointment will be
scheduled for you to participate in a group
informational/orientation meeting so that you can make an
informed decision about joining our program.
-
After this meeting, please call the Department of Volunteer
Services at 484-565-1099 to discuss opportunities available and
your particular interests.
-
When you are matched to a position, you will be directed by our
office to have a new QuantiFERON test (screening for
tuberculosis). You can complete this at your wellness center or
physician's office and submit a written confirmation to our
office or contact Occupational Health at 484-565-1293, which is
located on the hospital grounds. During flu season September
through May, all volunteers are required to have a flu shot, as
well.
-
Once you have completed your screenings, please contact the
Volunteer Office to arrange a start date.
-
On your first day you are required to report to the Volunteer
Office to turn in your orientation quiz, along with your uniform
payment for your volunteer shirt and jacket. You will also
receive your ID badge at this time.

Summer Junior Volunteer Program, please review the Junior

vaccination (5) and a booster. Usually obtained by 11 years of

(screening for tuberculosis) prior to your start date and a flu
shot during flu season, which is September through May.
-
The Summer Program requires that be available weekly from mid
June through the month of August.

requirements and start using your communication skills. We ask
that all communication come through the person who will be volunteering,
that is, YOU!
