The oral and maxillofacial surgeons at Bryn Mawr Hospital treat diseases
of the jaws, teeth and related structures. The primary responsibility of
the oral surgical specialist is to repair and reconstruct traumatic
injuries and developmental deformities of the facial skeleton. Our
pedodontic and general dental staffs provide comprehensive dental and
restorative care for children and adults. Other specialists in the
department include orthodontists and periodontists, who are concerned
with both the aesthetic, functional and supportive health of the soft
and hard tissues of the jaws.
Please note that Bryn Mawr Hospital has a special single-day dentistry
program for medically compromised and fearful dental patients. With
single-day dentistry, the patient goes to sleep in the operating room
and has all the dental work done by a team of dentists from the various
specialities of Bryn Mawr Hospital's Oral Surgery and Dentistry
Department.
