Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Inpatient and outpatient care is offered by the physical medicine specialists and therapists of Bryn Mawr Hospital in modern, fully equipped facilities. Our services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language pathology.

Our physical medicine specialists, working in concert with therapists, offer a variety of services, including electrodiagnostic testing for nerve and muscle disorders; physiatric evaluations; treatment of musculoskeletal, neurological, medical, orthopaedic and sports related injuries; wound care; and rehabilitation physician consultation services. Specialty programs include inpatient pulmonary rehabilitation, inpatient cardiac rehabilitation and hand therapy.

Our speech and language pathologists provide evaluation and treatment for communication and swallowing disorders. Treatments include videofluoroscopic swallowing studies and X-ray imaging of the swallowing process. Our pathologists place emphasis on patient and family education to ensure the continuum of care.
