Nephrology is the medical specialty concerned with the kidneys. The nephrologists at Paoli Hospital offer advanced techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and medical kidney (renal) problems, including chronic and acute renal disorders, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), diabetic nephropathy (kidney disease), renal failure, difficult-to-control hypertension and certain complications of pregnancy.
Dialysis
Paoli Hospital provides acute inpatient hemodialysis and acute peritoneal dialysis. Continuous arteriovenous hemodialysis is available for critically ill patients with acute renal failure.
A home training program is provided for patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD).

Transplant Nephrology
The transplant nephrologist at Paoli Hospital supports the Lankenau Medical Center Kidney Transplant Program by providing medical management of the patient before, during and after the transplant process. This physician also participates in the management of the transplant program and education of the hospital staff regarding solid-organ transplantation.
