Harm Scherpbier is Chief Medical Information Officer at Main Line
Health. He is responsible for the implementation of healthcare
information systems and electronic patient records for doctors, nurses
and other clinicians throughout the health system. Dr. Scherpbier is
adjunct faculty for Health Informatics at Thomas Jefferson University’s
School of Population Health.
Scherpbier joined Main Line Health in 2007. Before that, Scherpbier held
positions in software engineering and product management at Siemens
Health Services, CareScience, Aetna US Healthcare and SMS.
Scherpbier was born and raised in the Netherlands. He received his
medical training at the University of Groningen, graduating in 1986, and
has a MS in Medical Informatics from the Erasmus University of
Rotterdam. He moved to the United States in 1988. He and his family live
in Fort Washington, PA.
