A weekly conference assigned to one resident each week to
moderate, and choose the content of the conference.
This conference is run by the residents for the residents
This conference is attended by residents, faculty, nurse
practitioners, and certified nurse midwives.
In 2010 the Simulation Center opened as part of the Annenberg Conference
Center for Medical Education. The Sim Center is used for OB and GYN
simulation training to include but not limited to:
Shoulder Dystocia Drills
Post Partum Hemmorage
Annenberg Conference Center for Medical Education
This facility houses an auditorium, multiple conference rooms, library,
training labs equipped with audio visual/video-conferencing, and media
site capabilities and serves as the home for the Medical Education
Weekly Department Meetings
Topics include but not limited to:
Grand Rounds: Featuring Local, Regional, and National Speakers.
Residents Portfolio Presentations
Journal Club: Held bimonthly usually off campus.
Articles are assigned to residents to review and present. A schedule is
created at the beginning of each academic year. All residents are
expected to attend, dinner is provided.
Obstetrical Society of Philadelphia: Residents are
expected to attend this meeting at least three of the seven meetings
each year. This is an outside local conference held in Center City
Philadelphia. There is no cost to the resident to attend this meeting.
Rounds: Occur daily with the supervising faculty
attending. This gives the resident and faculty opportunity for informal
teaching at the bedside.
GYN Teaching Rounds: Occur weekly under the direction
of the Associate Program Director for GYN.
Board Rounds: occur twice a day in L&D with the OB
team. This team includes: faculty, residents, nurses, nurse
practitioners, social workers, neonatology, and medical students.
Graduate Medical Education Curriculum: All residents
are required to participate in all Core Curriculum lectures presented by
the Graduate Medical Education Office.

PGY 2: Laparoscopy Conference sponsored by the AAGL
A Lankenau graduate is virtually assured of a successful career in
whatever aspect of Obstetrics/Gynecology she/he chooses to venture. We
currently have an 100 percent Written Board Pass Rate for first time
takers, and 89 percent Oral Board Pass Rate for first time takers.
