Rick Mankin, MD

Dr. Mankin has an extensive knowledge of complex health care system operations and medical management coupled with his clinical background as a physician and deep understanding of ambulatory care and clinically integrated physician networks. He has more than 20 years of health care leadership experience with clinical and operational management and a strong commitment to quality and patient safety.
Prior to joining Main Line HealthCare in April 2013, Dr. Mankin served for 10 years as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer for Temple Physicians, Inc. (TPI), the community-based physician practice arm of Temple University Health System (TUHS). Under Dr. Mankin's leadership, the physician network grew from a start-up primary care practice to a large, integrated multi-specialty group.
A graduate of Haverford College and Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Mankin completed his Family Practice residency at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Connecticut and served on the Independence Blue Cross Physician Advisory Board and Health Partners Medical Advisory Committee.

Michelle has been involved in physician practice management for over 15 years, and started with Main Line HealthCare in 1995. During this time she has managed a broad mix of practice specialties. In her role, she is involved in the development of strategic initiatives for the MLHC practices, and she also has oversight of many MLHC departments. Michelle holds an MBA with an emphasis in Health Care Management from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She received her BS in Health Policy and Administration from Penn State University. She completed administrative internships at the Geisinger Medical Center and at Buffalo General Hospital.

Talia has returned to Main Line HealthCare after six years, during which time she worked as the Director of Physician Practices for the Mercy Health System managing primary care as well as specialty practices. She has more than 15 years experience in physician practice management, to include her employment at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital, Scott White Hospital in Texas, and University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. Her experiences include strategic planning for growth, expansions, acquisitions, and successions; implementation of "best practice" models; physician recruitment; and implementation of EPM/EMR, as well as Patient Portal, Meaningful Use and PCMH at the practices. Talia earned her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. She also has a Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois.

Jackie has been involved in physician practice management as well as billing management for 18 years and started at Main Line HealthCare in 2009. Her expertise includes improving front-end processes and standardization of practice procedures, as well as EMR/EPM implementation. Dawn has worked exclusively in health care for nearly 20 years with experience in medical practice operations and human resources. Dawn returns to Main Line Health after 13 years. In that time, she has held positions in academic settings, Penn Medicine and Drexel University College of Medicine, and in a for-profit setting, Community Health Systems.
Her passion is leading and managing complex business change and providing coaching to physicians, managers and staff to allow them to further develop their own leadership abilities and communication skills. Additionally, Dawn has special interest in customer satisfaction. She has developed and facilitated service excellence training for numerous managers and front-line staff of medical practices.
Her experience includes; medical practice acquisitions and divestitures, physician recruitment, proposing and implementing new workflow processes, data analysis and translation, and collaboratively building and fostering positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders to realize organizational objectives.

Phil has worked for physician networks, hospitals, and health insurance carriers for the past 18 years. He has directed and managed the Central Business Office (CBO) operations for multiple physician networks in numerous specialties. In his present position, Phil is responsible for the administrative, operational, and financial oversight of Reimbursement Services for the Main Line HealthCare network. He has consulted with physician groups, health systems, and industry observers on revenue cycle improvement strategies and technologies.

Maria joined our team in 1999 and has over 30 years of experience in operations management. Her expertise includes process improvements, increases in productivity, new product development, with a special interest in quality and consumer satisfaction. Maria holds her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. Prior to working in health care, Maria was a Director of Operations for a Fortune 50 manufacturing company.

Cathie joined the Main Line HealthCare team in 2015 bringing 20+ years of leadership experience from a variety of clinical environments. She has held management positions at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings. Most recently she served as the Practice Manager for the Crozer Keystone Family Medicine Residency Program and the Healthplex Sports Medicine Fellowship academic programs.
Her passion is in building teams and designing processes in Primary Care with a special emphasis on clinical quality and outcomes. The workflow re-design and implementation of the Patient Centered Medical Home in a residency environment gained her team national attention. Cathie enjoys fostering professional relationships with attending physicians, residents, staff, and patients to further advance patient-centered care.

Gail has worked in hospital and physician practice management for more than 12 years. She has worked in large private and faculty practice models developing strategic plans, recruiting physicians, establishing and opening satellite offices, reviewing practice operations to maximize efficiencies and improve patient, staff, and physician satisfaction and engagement.
A registered nurse with a BSN from Eastern University and an MSN from the University of Pennsylvania, Gail has worked in various roles within Main Line Health since 2004. Her current responsibilities are to oversee the physician practices in the Women's Health service line across Main Line HealthCare.

Steve has 20 years of physician network management experience including finance, strategic development, and operations. Prior to joining Main Line HealthCare in April 2015, Steve served as Senior Vice-President of Fornance Physicians, the multi-specialty group practice of the Montgomery Healthcare System and Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, where he led the development and integration of the Fornance network in central Montgomery County.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a BS in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Donald J. Klingen, Jr., MD

Dr. Klingen joined Main Line HealthCare in May 2011. He is responsible for facilitating the EMR project strategy, implementation, optimization, and adoption for users throughout the Main Line HealthCare network.
Prior to his work at Main Line HealthCare, Dr. Klingen was the Medical Director of Information Services for Crozer-Keystone Health System, and was the clinical lead for their successful ambulatory EMR program, community EMR program, and Patient Portal. Dr. Klingen also helped develop a physician reporting dashboard to support population management and network level quality initiatives.
Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Klingen earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA. He completed a Clinical Informatics fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and has pursued further graduate studies in the field of Medical Informatics.
Betty Anne Knowles

Betty Anne Knowles joined Main Line HealthCare in 2013. She has been at the forefront of health care change and on the front line of primary care practice transformation for the last decade, working collaboratively to support improvements in patient care, coordination and outcomes. In addition, she helped develop and operationalize non-primary care specialty service lines and integrate new models for sustained care delivery at some of the larges health care practices in the Philadelphia area.
Previously a Senior Practice Administrator at University of Pennsylvania's Clinical Care Associates, Betty Anne helped lead the organization's initial approach to patient-centered care, resulting in NCQA Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognition. She was chosen as one of the founding members of that system's "Best Practice Team," a group charged with identifying, piloting, and spreading best-in-medicine practices across the system.
Betty Anne has extensive experience with EMR installation and optimization and was the winner of several quality awards during her tenure at Penn. She was recognized for her work in the Performance Improvement in Action project to improve in-system leakage. She attended Widener University and is completing a degree in Leadership at Villanova University.

Rich joined MLHC in January 2016, after a 21 year career with Crozer Keystone. He has 15 years practice management experience and has worked in the healthcare industry for 30 years, working in both the clinical and administrative settings. While at Crozer, he held leadership roles in both primary care and in their surgical specialty practices. Rich’s experience includes; staff development, physician recruitment, strategic planning and workflow process analysis. He takes great pride in his ability to build relationships and to interface effectively with the management team, as well as physicians and ancillary staff.
Rich is a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Hospital Corps. He attended Widener University, with focus on Allied Health. He is actively pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration with Loyola University Maryland. His current responsibilities at Main Line HealthCare will include oversight of the physician practices in the surgical service line.

Christine is responsible for resolving payer reimbursement and underpayment issues. She assists the Director in the operational, financial, and administrative functions of Reimbursement Services. Prior to joining Main Line HealthCare, Christine managed Central Billing Office (CBO) operations in several different health care settings including a national renal dialysis provider, a major laboratory service provider, a large primary care and multi-specialty physician health system. Christine has worked in health care reimbursement for over 24 years.

Dawn returns to Main Line Health after 11 years as Main Line HealthCare's Executive Director of Practice Performance and Quality. She was previously Director of Quality Improvement and the Patient Safety Officer for Penn Medicine: Clinical Care Associates and was instrumental in the design and implementation of a robust ambulatory quality strategy that included leading patient-centered practice transformation resulting in 20 NCQA, Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognized practices, the implementation of centralized care management, and system-wide adoption of population management.
Prior to her employment at Penn, she was a Quality Improvement Consultant for the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physician Foundation in Harrisburg, and one of three Quality Improvement Coaches (IPIP) supporting practice transformation for state-wide practices participating in Pennsylvania's Chronic Care Initiative—led by the Governor's Office for Health Care Reform. She continued that same work as a Quality Consultant supporting practice transformation for the nation's largest physician-led Residency Program Collaborative. Dawn presents nationally on the topics of Implementation of Patient-Centered Medical Home, the Chronic Care Model, and Transitions of Care.
Dawn received her formal clinical training as a Registered Nurse at West Chester University and completed her business degree from Eastern University. Dawn's experience in collaborating with with health care organizations and industry stakeholders drivers her expertise in the areas of clinical operations, care management and coordination, delivery system redesign using LEAN methodologies, pay-for-performance, implementation of the Chronic Care Model, and Patient-Centered Medical Home transformation.
