Heart disease is the leading killer of men and women in the U.S. today. Health-e Neighbors, in conjunction with the heart specialists of the Main Line Health Heart Center, is committed to helping all residents of the Delaware Valley become of their risks for developing heart disease and to devise strategies for keeping their hearts in tip top shape. We regularly offer FREE cardiac risk assessments and screenings for high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and stroke at all of our hospitals and locations, as well as special preventive programs and information sessions to teach you how to lead a more heart smart lifestyle.

SmokeFree Classes
SmokeFree is a self-management program that addresses the physical and psychological addiction to smoking. SmokeFree is a state-approved smoking cessation program that has been in existence since the mid 1980s. The SmokeFree program consists of six two-hour classes. More Info! 






N.O.T. (Not on Tobacco) - Teen Smoking Cessation
N.O.T. is designed to provide a total health approach to helping adolescents quit smoking, reduce the number of cigarettes, increase healthy lifestyle behaviors, enhance their self-control and improve life management skills. More Info! 






Stroke Screenings
Learn the warning signs and your risk factors for stroke and "mini-strokes" or TIA's. This 15-minute screening includes blood pressure and heart rate check and a nurse will listen to the carotid arteries in your neck. Take the opportunity to learn the warning signs of a stroke and discuss your personal risk factors with a nurse. Stroke screenings taking place in your community. CPR - Adult Module I
Learn how to perform CPR, use of the AED, and choke saving on an adult. Co-sponsored with the American Red Cross.

Stretch Your Limits
Bi-weekly program builds strength and tones muscles. Using a resistance tube, our fitness instructors will guide you through a routine of exercises specially developed for middle-aged or older adults with cardiac problems.
 
Dates: Mondays - 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Time: Thursdays-12:00–1:00 pm
Location: Bryn Mawr Hospital, Clothier Auditorium
Fee:

$5 per class ($8 fee to purchase resistance tube)

Massage Therapy
Certified personnel will help to ease your muscle tension, reduce pain and restore energy.

Yoga
Stimulate the body to function efficiently by relieving stress, increasing flexibility, strength and endurance through the balance of quiet and active Yoga poses.

 

Dates: Wednesdays
Time: 7:00-8:30 pm

Fee: $75 for 6 Week course (or $18 per class for drop ins)

WELL-FIT


Ongoing exercise program for adults who want to maintain fitness. Program includes a health evaluation by certified personnel, follow-up report and personalized fitness program. Individuals can work at various Main Line Health physical rehab locations between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Call 1-866-CALL-MLH for phone numbers and locations to make an appointment. Fee





Blood Pressure Screenings

Blood pressure screenings are available throughout the community on a monthly basis. No appointment is needed.
