The Diabetes Management Program at Bryn Mawr, Lankenau and Paoli Hospitals is designed to help you take charge of your health
by learning about diabetes and about the importance of controlling your blood sugar level. Our goal is to keep you as healthy
and active as possible and minimize potential complications.
Our program is designed for individuals with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, and includes:
Individual consultations with a diabetes nurse specialist or diabetes dietician specialist A 10-hour course in diabetes management. Both day and evening classes are offered.
A ten-year research study completed by the National Institute of Health proved that good blood glucose control prevents or delays many of the complications of diabetes.
Education Our individual consults and group classes are taught by nurses and dieticians who are certified Diabetes Educators. Specific
topics include:
Controlling diabetes is ultimately your responsibility. We can provide you with the information and skills necessary to take
on that responsibility with confidence. We've helped countless individuals with diabetes live healthy, active, productive
lives.
Registration Preregistration is required to participate in the program. Most insurance companies will pay for all or part of the cost of
the program. We'll help you submit a claim to your insurance company to cover the program fee, although coverage benefits
vary.
