October 2003 Issue Every year, Main Line Health Laboratories conducts a comprehensive survey of physicians and clients who utilize our services.
This feedback is an important tool for quality assurance. In the past, surveys have been very helpful in bringing key issues
to our attention. We have worked to address those issues and made improvements to the quality of service to you and your patients.
July 2003 Issue Main Line Health Laboratories will soon be offering a DNA amplification test in house to detect Chlamydia trachomatis and
Neisseria gonorrhoeae(GC). BD ProbeTec was the method chosen because it offers many advantages. DNA amplification is now considered
the standard of care.
April 2003 Issue CPT code changes, new methodologies, and a new specimen tracking system have prompted MLHL to modify outpatient test requisition
forms. Also, cytology and surgical pathology will no longer be ordered using the same form; each will have a specialized requisition.
January 2003 Issue MLHL has recently published a new Medicare coverage manual for clinical laboratories that is effective for dates of service
on or after Monday, November 25, 2002.
