Main Line Hospitals Nursing supports and upholds the organizational mission, vision and values of the Main Line Health System. As nurses, we are committed to the provision of quality, compassionate, individualized, patient-focused care to members of our diverse community. We provide holistic care to unique individuals consistent with the standards of professional nursing practice, the Pennsylvania State Code, and the American Nursing Association's Code of Ethics for Nurses. We ensure that these individuals receive equal, confidential treatment that respects their inherent dignity and worth.

Nursing is a humanistic science and an interdependent, dynamic profession that incorporates theoretical concepts, scientific principles, technical and interpersonal skills, creativity, and critical thinking in the application of the nursing process. We, as nurses, embody these concepts and develop mutually respectful collaborative relationships with other members of the health care team, the patient and support system to promote wellness, the restoration of health during illness, and, at the end of the lifespan, the provision of a peaceful death with dignity. Within these relationships, we serve as the patient’s advocate and support the patient’s right to:  be involved in his/her treatment planning; self-determination; confidentiality; privacy; informed consent regarding care and treatment; and, to be treated with sensitivity regarding religious, ethnic, and/or cultural belief diversities.

Dottie Everett-Hogue, RNC
MLH Clinical Nurse, NICU

We, as nurses, believe in the responsibility and the accountability of the professional nurse in providing highly competent, effective, quality care based on research and established standards of practice. Through an environment of participatory management and autonomy, nurses are encouraged to adopt “best practices”, utilize state-of-the-art technology, and develop innovative approaches to problem solving in the continued commitment to nursing excellence.

We are dedicated to continued professional growth through ongoing education, certification, and quality improvement activities. Within this climate, we celebrate each other, our past, and our future as our best resources. We strive to recruit and retain only the nursing professionals who are dedicated to this philosophy.  We take pride in participating in the education of the next generation of nurses, so that we may instill in them, not only our knowledge and philosophy, but the spirit and passion of those who have come before them.
